I used to believe that the only way to live was to be completely unfeeling and closed off, not allow any feeling in or out so nothing could affect me. The heart and mind should be strong and solid, completely impervious like a steel ball.

I've come to realise that is not a path to happiness. Our hearts and minds should be open, and therein lies beauty. The flower may appear very fragile, but it is this fragility that also gives it beauty. And as for being strong and hard, it also takes courage and strength to allow yourself to be vulnerable.

I think this is very pretty. But I think I liked the shopts where the flower was more prominent, for me it seemsto blend to the background too much. It's not vibrant enough and I don't like the way it's turned into the steel balls, it looked better facing out. However, I still ike it very much and thats just a personal opinion.

I love it :clap: The execution is perfect and the concept is also very good. I like the vibrant colours of the flower against the muted steel balls... :thumbsup: I do feel that this should be in the conceptual gallery though.

I'm definately adding this to my favs! :heart:

i love the concept, but (there is a but , sorry :-) ) - if it was up to me i would use a more soft-like flower - because your one is kinda spiky and not vulnerable, i would use a whit-ish, round-ish flower of some sort (i guess)
but hey, i do like the shot - how did you think of it, and what are the steel balls? (oh, take away the temptation - i guess i only find the phrase funny because its monday morning)

I understand what you're saying about the flower. I wanted a bright colour to really stand out against the balls and background. I think white would have made the image too monotone. You know those photos that are mostly black and white with selective colour? This is sort of my go at that idea, but without doing the effect in photoshop.

Well I've got two days to get another deviation up, and so have you ;)

yep) i see what u mean... but maybe a more rounded flower? - oh, dont listen to me :-)

I KNOW!!! - and today is out of the question cos im off to opera tonight and tomorrow... well - there was a picnic planned, so i might be doing drunken doodles ))))
